This AT allows Kara to achieve beyond her physical capabilities. Since birth she is unable to use her limbs and confined to a wheel chair with a fully functioning brain and head. Her mother was told she would be mentally retarded.
The head mouse (wireless optical sensor), very similar in size to a bindi, is mounted on the user’s forehead and monitored by a computer camera. Kara can type, research, Skype, and surf the Internet because the AT has two software programs; on-screen keyboard (w/ word prediction) and a magic cursor (to click, double click and click and drag). Before her AT she had the help of humans and her grades were not that great, but now, she has blossomed as a student. She can get her work done if the teachers get it to her in an electronic format.

The wireless optical sensor head mouse is an amazing device that allows individuals with no use of their extremities to use a computer on there own. It gives these individuals the freedom to do just about anything on a computer that a person with regular use of their hands/arms. The girl in this video literally grew from an average student to an outstanding student with the ability to achieve anything she sets her mind, or forehead, to do. I see this item as an excellent AT device.
